Information on what to do if you were Adopted in the UK.
Adopted adults have been able to apply for access to their original
birth record since 1975.
Those adopted (England and Wales) before 12 November 1975 are respectfully
required to see a nominated counsellor before they can be given access
to their records. If you were adopted after 11 November 1975 you can choose
whether or not you want to see a counsellor.
